With the advent of the energy crisis and the push for more energy efficient buildings, the need for knowledgeable HVAC support became even more intense. As the HVAC industry entered the 1980’s, Cochrane Ventilation Inc. was pioneering new ventilation decontamination techniques and equipment.
The 1980’s also brought about heightened concern for indoor air quality, and Cochrane Ventilation Inc. met the need with our vast field experience and technical support by working with state departments, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and Fortune Five Hundred companies to bring about cost effective solutions to indoor air quality problems.

In 1989, the National Air Duct Cleaners Association was formed and shortly thereafter Cochrane Ventilation Inc. took a very active role in the organization as they worked to develop standards and credentialing in the industry.
